Kundalini Yoga:
Kundalini Yoga -- the yoga of enlightenment -- is a safe, comprehensive system of exercise, utilizing postures (asanas), chanting (mantras), meditation, and relaxation. It works to strengthen and balance all parts of the body: nervous system, muscles, joints, glands, immune system, and circulation. It works on the mind to increase your mental clarity and gives you a deep inner calm and balance. It can help increase your ability to handle stress. Kundalini yoga increases flow of your natural energy and can improve vitality. It also works on strengthening your connection to your spiritual self to help you reach your higher consciousness.
"Kundalini" means "coil of the lock of the beloved", referring to our latent spiritual potential, usually depicted as a serpent coiled at the base of our spines. This latent force of energy is released by the practice of Kundalini yoga, and its purpose is to raise consciousness as it ascends through the chakras to the crown chakra where it connects to the Infinite and you reach enlightenment. Practicing or achieving this process is called "raising the Kundalini" but bringing the awareness back to the everyday world and applying it toward the greater good of humanity is actually the completion of the Kundalini journey.
As we practice Kundalini yoga, this untapped energy is released and begins to rise up the central column of spine until it reaches the top of the skull, activating the secretion of the pineal gland. One of the functions of this tiny, wheat-sized gland is to vibrate and control the nucleus projection of every cell in the body. All biological consciousness is chemical in nature -- it is controlled by the secretion of chemicals in the brain. When we raise the Kundalini it causes the activation of these chemicals and major change in consciousness occurs.

This class is aimed at helping golfers increase their flexibility to maximize the torque from their backswing. The yoga emphasizes on hip-opening, shoulder stretching, and chest-widening stretches to help athletes remain supple, and the meditation helps with mental focus and clarity.
